I like to add people dying in the beggining. It creates a more intense atmosphere to follow up on.

my method for a fabulous introduction is to start with a story or a just to write something that has a hook and a meaning to it that will make the reader to continue reading. sometimes to start with a question about the topic will also make a nice introduction.

A very good thing to have in your introduction to hook your reader is to have an interesting fact that will surprise your readers.

Introductions really need to show what the paper is going to be about without really starting the paper, it can be about something related to the topic that the reader needs to know about before they really get into te paper.
Like telling the setting of a story.

i think that using people dying is a little inense but i like to use people in pain

Hey,
My idea of a good introduction would be a comment or something that can be used to hook a reader. You could use a fact or something that's like HEY! The main point is to just write a introduction where the reader doesn't focus on anything but that.

The Truth

One of the ways I like to use for a good introduction is to start it out with a list that will keep the reader reading!

Maya

I think a good way to write a persuasive and drawing introduction is to start off with a story that the reader feels they can personally relate to. This makes the reader want to keep reading to finish the story. Another good thing about ato do is to start off with a peice of information that will blow thier minds and make them think differently. They will want to know the reason for it and find out more about, so that they can figure out this crazy information. This is what I do to make my paper better.

THe Introduction to the paper needs to be about the topic. Its best for it to summerize what you are going to be writing about. The writer should have something shocking/attention grabber in the introduction.

I have an introduction. It's fanastic.

Dear Ms.Goode,

I think a good introduction should include something that clues the reader into what you are writing about so therefore, you can draw attention to lots of people. Not to mention you should always say what you are writing about. That is what I think you should include in a introduction.

usually ill start the intoduction with something like "most people think.....but really..." unless of course what people think is true, in which case this intoduction would not work. wow, way to shoot down your own idea, elizabeth. well now you people are going to have to post some good ideas because mine wont work half the time. boo.

4 a good introduction you could start the story backwards. Like start with the ending of it that will grab the ready cuz they will be like, "wow where did that come from? What happened?" this will make them read on so they can find out.

I think that i start with thinking of somthing that would make me interrested. Then I just start going with the idea. Once i get into it i will make it work for me and most of the time it makes others get into it too.

Skyler...

Sometimes, you might want to use the ending as the beginning. (It certainly worked in Lawrence of Arabia)

The best way is to present the audience with just some info and let them want more. Maybe add a question in or give interesting statistics

Katie

People dying may be good for a story but not a research paper. I like to start with a fact or a question or something that surprizes the reader. Other than that, I have no techniques whatsoever. Just write what feels right.

well I'm not very good at writing introductions, but I know what I like to see in them. sometimes an interesting fact will draw me in, or a joke(that's not corny). basically something that gets you hooked with the first sentence.

Anything that is on the edge and maybe a cliffhanger, anything exciting really.
